Rotating City: yet another ambitious Dubai project

"QUANTUM SHOT" #152Futuristic city is in the works for Dubai - with rotating towers, floating and "flying" villas. click to enlarge ![]() ![]() UAE developer "High Rise RE" is set to build "The Rotating City" - a new concept in urban planning, where every building rotates and faces different environments according to the owner's wishes. Dubai's incredible pace of development has been documented in a few posts around the web (see here and here), but this project seems to top them all. ![]() ![]() It sounds like some vintage science fiction dream come alive: Rotating Villas, Rotating Apartments, Rotating Buildings and Rotating Restaurants, Floating Villas on water, Rotating Hotels, Flying Wedding Halls, Flying Villas that can rise and rotate at the same time. ![]() ![]() ![]() Floating, Rotating and "Soaring" Villas: "Rotating City" does not rotate as a whole, but just about every building inside of it, does. These villas also float, lift themselves to create the illusion of soaring, and turn around to face the lucky owner's desired view. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() "High Rise" company clearly believes that dreams can be built in stone - and it has quite a portfolio of unique buildings to prove it (some already built in the fairy-tale environment of Dubai) ![]() (image source) ![]() "Emirates Flag" hotel complex ![]() Rotating Apartment Tower Faisal Ali Moosa, founder of "High Rise", says that the construction will start as soon as they get the land. Apparently there is no shortage of money, and certainly no lack of creativity. ![]() Permanent Link... ![]() Category: Architecture |

Thanks for posting but I can't see the photos as this country blocks the site where your photos are located. Some projects are ambitious but there's lots that's way behind the times.
Some may be behind the times but some are very advanced and ambitious. My friends and I are planning on going there some time but probably we will not stay in the 7 star hotel. I got a nice .pps presentation by email on Dubai architecture, which shows the rotating towers and other buildings.
