2. It's an entirely different story outside of the Aquarium
Nomura jellyfish periodically "attack", or rather infest the warm Japanese seas. Some are 1 meter wide, with the largest reportedly being up to 4 meters in length. Wikipedia article documents the invasion. In the meantime coastal communities in Japan are doing their best to promote jellyfish as a novelty food, sold dried and salted, and some even turned into cookies.
Just to give you a sense of proportion, here is a picture of Baby Jellyfish
Japanese are losing fish harvests due to Nomuras. They kill the nomuras caught in their nets, but nomuras will drop their eggs and sperm upon dying, therefore "seeding" the next generation. This makes the likelihood of catching more jellyfish instead of food fish. Japanese rely too heavily on the sea and are creating more of a mess with their policies.
Great article! A new book has just been released with Don Wetzel's personal first-hand accounts of designing and operating the jet-powered test bed. Check it out!!
if iran is a democracy, and the popularly elected leader of the country is a representation of the will of the people, then surely the people of Iran are insane. Ahmaninejad is a hitlerite kill-the-jews, kill-the-americans, kill-anyone-who-challenges-islam type; his support of numerous terrorist groups places him below sanity.
Stop believing all the propaganda about Iran. It is a developing democracy just as all the modern democracies today once were. Also it has a diverse population including a large jewish population who've lived there since the old testament (remember Daniel in the lions' den?). Does supporting organisations fighting illegal occupation make Iran a terrorist state? You should visit the place as they're famous for their hospitality.
And Kinser, I don't think Iran is any more terrorist than the U.S. is! I'll tell you why: First of all can you mention any terrorist activity where the terrorist or terrorists have been Iranian?
Iran supports Hamas and Hezbollah, but these organizations are no more terrorist than was the Contra which the U.S. supported. The CIA has also supported the murderous fascist "grey wolves" of Turkey, and several congressmen and the current U.S. establishment and Pentagon have supported /are supporting an anti-Iranian terrorist group by the name of MKO or MEK (Mujahedin Khalq Organization) which also happens to be listed on the U.S. list of terrorist groups! So I really can not see how you can think that Iran is any more a "terrorist state" than the U.S. is.
And finally here is another great album: http://www.worldisround.com/articles/343042/index.html
Hi Thanks for the beautiful pictures . But unfortunately the 17th pictures does not belong to Iran . Please kindly remove it from the list . It mostly similar to the buildings you may see in an Arabic capital. Regards Behnam
Kinser cracks me up. "And quite honestly i've seen better scenery here at my home state." only an american would bother to post something so rude. plus it is like saying there is only one pretty girl, or only one good wine, or only one good swimming hole. "Quite honestly, " are there degrees of honesty? "we have better swimming holes in my home state.' home? state?
as for the terrorism charge, it is debateable and depends on your perspective. some would say bombing with depleted uranium is the height of terrorism. it is pretty clear that the people dodging the american bombs were terrified.
as with most things, i suggest you follow the money. some people are making billions from our war culture. all wars end up with arms sellers behind them. the people would like q chance to get along
Do you have any idea how bad my cough is right now?
Man, I almost passed out, on several occasions. Laughing so hard can kick off a serious coughing fit. You should make a sign to warn people about that....
These are great. The restaurant I used to work at had the 'espresso and a free puppy' sign. We also had one that said 'Children left unattended will be put to work as dishwashers.'
My parents bought a D-series at the factory in 1959, drove it around Europe and then shipped it home. It was bronze, looks like the one here floating on orange balls. We kept it until the mid-70s, and it was one of the first cars I ever drove. It was one amazing piece of machinery. Thanks for this trip down memory lane!
Yes, the famous DS study. Citroen has to be praised for daring and innovative designs in the past and today. They went through a bit of a dullness phase during the 80s and 90s, but they're coming back strongly now. When it comes to design, these guys know their stuff.
That very special DS was made for the 1958 Universal Exhibition of Brussels. It was an exhibition where a new kind of design begun. People there were also amazed by the Atomium building: a crystal metal molecule made 165 billions times bigger! That building stills up today and have just be resurfaced. So if you're in Brussels some times, be sure to see it! You can even go in and walk in the balls, up and downs stairs and escalators. You can actually see a life size picture of the DS (the same picture) in the main hall. i got some pics if u want

These photos are spectacular!
I don't know about jellyfish, but squid are delicious!
Shedd Aquarium in Chicago has a nice jellyfish tank, it's lit with coloured lights and UV (blacklight) so they look quite spectacular.
Incredibly beautiful. It looks like museum jewelry.
Wow, thank you for the incredible display of jellyfish photos. I think they're gorgeous creatures...
