"QUANTUM SHOT" #86 The Splendor of Flight "Letchik Lekha" is a Russian commercial pilot who also happens to be an avid photographer. On his site you can find many rare shots of airplanes, the land below and the sky above, so here is just a small sample (click to enlarge photos): (by the way "Letchik" means "the pilot" in Russian, so his real name is kept secret for now... maybe because of airline regulations) You can also visit his blog (in Russian). ![]() ![]() ![]() The Ural Mountains: ![]() ![]() ![]() Kazbek Peak, Caucasus Mountains ![]() ![]() ![]() Villa in Saudi Arabia: ![]() ![]() ![]() 2. His real name is not a secret. "Aleksey" is his official name, written in passport. His mother and wife call him "Alesha" with love in voice. His close friends can call him "Lesha" or "Leha". He calls himself "Letchik Leha" - that means "Pilot Aleksey". Rich and beautiful Russian language allows to transfer many subtle differences and senses just by changing words.
Ah, his full name - Aleksey Victorovich Kochemasov.

Nice article. One correction though: Antonov An-124 is called Ruslan. Antonov An-22 is Antei.
Hello! I read this article! Big thanks to author, very interesting. Write more.
Wow really great pictures. Especially the clouds looks very good!
'Winter Landing': it's an abandoned plane. There is no nose cone, where the radar equipment is normally located.
