High-Powered Laser Wonder Cleaning

There is something extremely satisfying in watching the powerful laser remove the rubbery grime and oil from the old engine:


Also watch the same technique applied to... a pencil drawing (yes, the same laser can be used as a high-tech eraser!) and a bronze eagle sculpture.

Steampunk Coffee Shop in Cape Town, South Africa

This is one of the Truth coffee shop in Cape Town, designed by Haldane Martin in a definite steampunk vein, featuring the cast iron vintage roaster drum in an iindustrial warehouse setting, with plenty of rugged gears, pipes and mechanisms thrown in for a good measure:

"White Zip Tie" Bear Sculpture

These meticulously interlinked 20,000 standard white zip ties create the ephemeral animal form, which hangs in place suspended with cables - this is the art installation by New York design firm Design Office Takebayashi Scroggin (D.O.T.S.) - seen at the 2011 Beaux Arts Festival:
