The gotham-style concept art is amazing, and I can see why it was groundbreaking then. While viewing those pictures, I was reminded of the visual style of the concept art for the "People's Palaces of Socialist Bliss" that I stumbled upon a good while ago - and lo and behold, there it was, a bit further down. Thumbs up!willythesquidnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11787852.post-5251476025603580322007-12-14T10:39:00.000-08:002007-12-14T10:39:00.000-08:00The photo of the man talking to a woman pilot is f...The photo of the man talking to a woman pilot is from the musical-comedy-science fiction (3 things that don't go well together) film "Just Imagine", 1933.jayessellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12657220445010991417noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11787852.post-70036421647803130122007-12-13T21:40:00.000-08:002007-12-13T21:40:00.000-08:00One of the best collections of such images I've se...One of the best collections of such images I've seen. Of course... we're now into an era of increased interest in public transit (which is good).

The thing is, though, that most cities evolve organically (aside from the roads in the grid-style of North America) and therefore don't usually turn out looking uniform like in the visions. Architects don't even design their buildings to match well with neighboring buildings that are already up!www.SoScooter.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11787852.post-13131965697847552522007-12-05T14:56:00.000-08:002007-12-05T14:56:00.000-08:00The 6th pixture from the bottom ("original unknown...The 6th pixture from the bottom ("original unknown") is from Arthur C.
