Bullet Proof Wife

A man with a rifle tests an early version of bullet proof glass (filmed in the 1930s) - with wife holding glass in front of her face. I guess, this is the ultimate test of a wife, too:

When sculptures hide faces...

"Angelo del Dolore" by William Wetmore Story - Protestant Cemetery, Rome (right) - info, and some unnamed lady sculpture on the left:

Fantastic 3D Buggies, Inspired by Mad Max

Marek Denko made these models, and they look pretty wicked.

See more images of them here - including "Nuclear Winter Explorer".

Mysterious Signage

Even though we know that it must be an urban art project, some signs will make you scratch your head (and your need your hands to drive). Hopefully it's not going to lead to more accidents....

Food Presentation is Everything

Changes the taste, no?

This is Japanese, of course - you might recognize Evangelion shape in there.

How to Express Your Love with Post-It Notes

This photo was taken in Antigua, Guatemala. On each note is the message, "Te amo, Cristina." -

Post-Apocalyptic Warsaw

Gotta love these Stalin-era skyscrapers... they look even better this way:

Wacky How-To

How to: breathe a new life into a cool retro phone... and make your hot dog shine (and perhaps sparkle) -

and how NOT TO change time on your clock:

Sweet Obsession: KitKats!

The largest collection of KitKats (about 140 flavours) is in this set, plus the info - courtesy of Jon Climpson. There are blueberry KitKats, watermelon & salt, toasted soy flour (kinako), fragrant black tea, blood orange.... Some are Tokyo area limited editions, rarely seen anywhere else.

Of course KitKats are lucky in Japan - KitKat ("Kitto Katto") sounds a bit like "Kitto katsu", which roughly means "You're sure to win".

This plastic coyote is supposed to keep geese off a lawn in Tewksbury, Mass. The image below is a Photoshop, unless you saw the similar one in your window:

Personalized Puzzle Maps of Your Neighborhood

Sounds like a good gift idea... send them your street address, and they'll create a 400-piece puzzle of a six-by-four-mile area using U.S. Geological Survey maps. 9more info)

New, scary (updated) PAC-MAN, and other classic arcade games

Jared Moraitis from Pop-Monkey Illustration updates the look of classic arcade games, and places their characters into some rather wicked locales. The latest creation (a redesign of the Q*Bert) is here.

There's a couple of PAC-MAN pieces, including PAC Samurai, more forthcoming - to the delight and nerd glee of gamers everywhere!

Re: Aerocar - Gorgeous! And it's especially darling with the wings and tail removed.

When I finally get around to writing the mixed-up 1930s-60s vacuum-tube-punk pulp masterpiece, my heroine will certainly drive something just like that.

And then when I become filthy rich by selling the option to Hollywood, I'll buy that one.

Wow, the wife in that video is suicidal or something...

Especially love that crazy monster plate. I want dishes like that in my cupboard

The angels hiding their faces are pretty cool -- but don't look away. Don't even blink. Blink and you're dead.

Beware of the weeping angels....

I want the silverware in that dish picture.
The plate is pretty awesome too. XD
