UPDATE (thanks Micha!) The Picture is from the Movie "Blitzmädels an die Front". It's an old – and very strange – West German Movie about the bizarre life of women in the Third Reich. The story follows several girls and young women that gone to be Blitzmädels - Women that worked as support troops for the Wehrmacht, the Nazi Army. The Blitzmädels were not fighting soldiers but worked as secretaries and nurses. The Picture shows the girls at the sport training an qualification review...

"On Thursday October 18th Western Washington was hit with a 50+ MPH wind storm. Here are my pictures of the event. After work I made my way down to the Mukilteo Lighthouse Park where I witness the Mukilteo to Clinton ferry taking a pounding.
These Issaquah 130 Class ferries are over 300 feet long and 78 feet wide and weight in at 2477 tons (4,954,000 lbs) unloaded......"
"During storms like this the crew plots a course which puts the ferry in the least vulnerable position, but at some point they have to change course, and when they did Puget Sound made up for lost time. After this run the ferry system stopped running at full capacity and ran 1/2 empty for the rest of the night. Note that there are no longer cars visible in the last shot. I'm sure they were washed into the cars behind them."
Those St. Petersburg cars are having to deal with ice in many of the crashes; you can tell by the glide. However, many of them are also driving too fast for the conditions. "Drive as though you have no brakes— because you don't."

Actually, it's the other way round: left-bottom corner silhouette depicts the Kollosalwagen, whereas the Maus can be seen on the right.
Rocket firing Sovjet tanks are not very special. After the experimental types ALL russian tanks sported 125 mm, or bigger, SMOOTH bore cannons that fired either fin stabilized grenades or sabots or guided rockets. The Germans had a siege tank, the Sturmtiger, that was armored with halve a foot of steel on the front, that drove up to a bunker and fired a 38 cm rocket, at point blank range in the bunker, penetrating 2.5 meters of reinforced concrete, destroying it. With respect to the A7V, your joke about stormtroopers is unfortunate. It took me a while to figure out you meant the Star Wars Stormtroopers and not the WW1 Stosstruppen or the Nazi Sturmabteilung. You have to allow that some of your readers' references go back a little farther than the last 15 hours!

The Fahrpanzer or a close derivative appears on a book in my collection. "Permanent Fortification" by Lt Col G J Feibeger of West Point (1900),it appears to be a manual for West Point Cadets. Thank you for publishing the photos, it has assisted my efforts immesurably.
The oversize multi-turreted tanks are explicable; when the internal combustion engine was new, people envisaged "land ships"; terrestrial versions of Naval battleships. That there would be an upper practical weight of about 50 tonnes for tanks, was not obvious.

Survivorman is genuinely great, it feels and IS all real. Plus survival advices he gives are in fact quite clever and, uhm, helpful. Bear's are dumb, aimed to sound terrifying/disgusting, and sometimes even dangerous to your health (like the one about drinking pee).
These just look amazing, it make me think about how well Bento plays with food in japan, with all the game characters! When food looks good, it just tastes better!

I guess when you aren't relying on traffic lights to regulate things you are forced to pay attention to what the cars around you are doing.
I far as I can tell the text in the corner of that picture translates to: "Lightning Models on the Front".
And it turns out it's some sort of film... :-/

Blitz is the name for the tactic de nazi's used in the first stage of WW2 (Blitz-Krieg=Lightning War)
Mädeln means something like 'girls, ladies'
And the logo on their shirt is the logo of the Third Reich
