 "QUANTUM SHOT" #264link Most of them are beautiful, some are deadly Even though the title of this article sounds like a name for some obscure lawyer firm, the beauties in question usually fare far worse in terms of reputation. Most people shudder if they happen to touch the slimy fungus or fruiting moss, and rarely have an inclination to give them a closer look. Love the pictures of the various types. I wonder how poisonous the translucent ones are.
Lichens and moss are indeed beautiful. It would take me about 18 years to hike the Appalachian Trail, because I'd stop every few feet and gawk at these tiny beauties, not to mention ferns, mushrooms, rock tripes, etc etc. Big nature is breathtaking, but small nature is just a wonderful.

Loads of lichen where I live.
I spent a few weeks this spring photographing some; we had a huge windstorm, so high-branch lichens were knocked down too.
