Good Source of Old-Fashioned Optimism

There are a lot of places on the web where you can see "the ugliest LP covers", or "the weirdest LP covers" (like here, and here, for example) There is also a good site for "cheesecake", or glamour album covers. In this post we decided to collect simply the covers that we like, on some subconscious level, either because of their strange themes, or just because they're cute. Or just because... In any case, enjoy.

Time to bring out the pretty girls:

Cuties pop out in all kinds of places:

Be careful with these Katz brothers:

A few classics:

Album art by the great artist Richard Powers:

This guy seems to be a little distracted:

Interesting view on Paris:

Truckers, pay attention:

This truck helps with music - "with sounds effects of cement mixer and (crunchiest) celery stalks":

Ladies falling for musical instruments:

If you put musical instruments "on ice" they will still work:

Space calling:

Guys are doing fine, too:

"Yeehaw!"

Time to get "Windows" 4.0 upgrade -

Cool repairs:

The "Man with a Horn" cover was particularly audacious, considering the placement of the trumpet and the fact that "having a horn" used to be UK slang for having an erection...that's why the English changed the title of the American film "Young Man with a Horn" to "A Young Man of Music"

I, TonyGuitar, owned an album in the 70s that I am looking for the name of, band name? and the song name for music that is train related.

[Southern fried rock]
Very strident guitar sound.

The song begins in slow time and gradually builds up speed to a quick train tempo and ends with a high guitar tain sound and steam release.

The Album Cover is mostly green lily pond with a frog in the foreground.

Do you know this Artist, Album or song?

If you have a low priced copy, I would likely buy it.= TG

Very nice selection of cool and unusual covers! I've used a few of them in my fine art photos to provide background context for my equally strange and unusual narrative images.

I also have my entire collection of 400 or so vintage covers on my web site, so browse on over for a look.

The blonde on the cover of Bob Rosengarden's "Percussion: Playful and Pretty" looks quite happy considering she appears to have a clarinet impaled thru her head...
