"QUANTUM SHOT" #122
Link - by Avi Abrams

A world record weightlifting in its class. 1600 metric tons.

They are "crane ships": jumbo vessels with installed cranes, designed to serve Mecha-Godzillas, hmm... no, load containers, assist in offshore construction and lift various heavy loads.

Dutch company JumboShip makes some outstanding vessels of this kind (first two photos):

Photographer Patrick Savalle had a rare opportunity to visit MV "Jumbo Fairpartner". With his exclusive permission, we publish the pictures he took in and around the ship, with some especially humbling shots of huge shipping cranes loading containers and even train cars into the gaping maw of the hold...

I have been up close to some of those container ships having picked up many times at various docks in N.O., Houston area and in the NJ ports.
They make you feel really small when you have to really look up to see the top of one even from 50-100 yards away let alone standing or driving next to one.
